Dramatic Rescue in Downtown Little Rock
Updated On: May 23, 2010 (22:09:00)

Little Rock Firefighters,

Some of our Local 34 members pulled a woman and child from their sinking SUV along 7th street in downtown Little Rock during flash flooding Thursday night (Oct. 29th).  Capt. Springer was in charge while Acting Driver Lear-Sadowsky and Probationary Firefighter Barber entered the water, made their way to the SUV, and broke a window to get the woman and child out of the vehicle.  Another person was on the scene and jumped in to help while Engine 1 was arriving on the scene.  The whole event was seen live on KARK 4 News at 10:00pm!  Without the brave efforts of our brothers on Engine 1, this incident could have ended very badly.  Those rescued came by the firehouse the following morning to say thanks.  Great job guys!  Check out the video, the link is on the right under "Important Links", Water Rescue.
